Retired?

May 1, 2016....official day of retirement

Worked every year since...mostly spring and fall as I don't care to freeze or melt....I could work 1700 hours a year which is almost full time...but I'm good with 12-14 weeks at this pay rate.....built a house with it without borrowing from a bank.

 I remember reading about someone living on a cruise ship full time....only around $100 a day but EVERYTHING is free and you get to sit with the Captain at dinner. Let me think about this a bit more..........

Do we have to always catch up with yourselves or is it ok to be forever behind the preverbal 8 ball? 

Got hot water in the 'Barn' now so showers are not out of the question. Bought shower rod and curtain today but everything is tile so I could have just mopped the floor all the time. I can now close the wall and hide all the plumbing then install the vanity.. will have to do a video and figure out how to get blogger on my phone. Maybe that will be a goal for tomorrow....right now it's bedtime for all us old folk~~~~

turkey day came and went again...same shit all over

Ethan came home for a few days so we knocked around, went hunting a couple times and he spent a few days with his sister and her clan of boys....

I have to make a trip to South Bend tomorrow so I am taking a couple days out of the woods so the trip goes without any problem and I have everything I need to haul everything back...

22 degrees

He walked almost silently. The breathe from his nostrils turned into fog as soon as it hit the chill air, just as mine did. He stopped 30 yards away, broadside, the perfect shot, if he was standing in front of me. He was directly behind me with the tree between us but I could lean just a bit and get a good look at this 150 pound 8 point...small by our local standards yet still a good size for a freezer. I could do nothing but watch as he turned his head side to side taking everything in, looking for danger. Today I posed none at the moment because this tree was right in my way. He ambled off to his right and got further away with each step till at 80 yards he stopped to grass on something. He lifted his head and smelled the air, most likely getting a whiff of the scent bottle I had hanging over by the picked cornfield, then turned away and walked towards an arrow on another morning in the future.
